Finger Lakes Woodturners

Finger Lakes Woodturners will hold our regular September club meeting on Thursday, September 17th. The meeting will be held at the new Isaac Heating and Air Conditioning facility and will begin at 6:00pm with a show and share of members work. A quick business meeting will commence at 6:45pm. Following the business meeting we will have our featured event.

This month we will feature FLWT Members, Jim Echter, David Gilbert, Terry Lund and Ralph Mosher, with Sharpening.

This is our first meeting of the season – what better way to start than with a discussion on sharpening! At this meeting Terry Lund will be coordinating brief presentations from David Gilbert, Ralph Mosher, and Jim Echter about the sharpening techniques they are currently using, and you will hear a number of different ideas and approaches presented. Members are encouraged to bring their own gouges to the meeting if they have any sharpening questions or if you want to compare your favorite grind with any of the grinds being described. We will also have several lathes set up with some bowl blanks and some spindle blanks for members to do some hands on trial of any of the different grinds.
