January 18, 2024 – Monthly Meeting and Mike Peace Demonstration

The January meeting will be on Thursday January 18, 2024. The meeting will be an Interactive Remote Demonstration with Mike Peace at St. Michael's Woodshop. The meeting and demonstration will also be available via Zoom for members who are not attending in personZoom will open at 6:30 pm for informal discussions, and the meeting will begin at 7:00 (NOTE  the time changes). Zoom information will be emailed to current FLWT members a few days in advance of the meeting.
 
Folks attending at St Michael's Woodshop should plan to arrive no earlier than 6:30, to insure that the student program has finished for the day. Participants enter through the main entrance to sign in with building security.
 

Mike Peace enjoys every aspect of woodturning including demonstrating and teaching. He has demonstrated at the American Association of Woodturners symposium 2016 and 2018, as well as regional symposia and at many clubs in the Southeast and more recently Interactive Remote Demonstrations to clubs throughout the US, Canada and England. He has taught at the John C. Campbell Folk School.

Mike Peace will demonstrate how to turn a chess set. A chess set is not that difficult for a novice turner. He will cover chess set design, wood selection, using story sticks, chucking, turning and finishing.
