Our speaker for November is David Gilbert. He is known to many of you for his bowls and boxes. He will demonstrate how he cores out bowls and then how he processes them. David owns two coring systems and will demonstrate both: a Oneway Easy-Core Coring System and a Kelton McNaughton Bowl Saver System. He makes extensive use of his vacuum system, and it is used for upwards of 90% of his turnings. In his opinion, some people will want a coring system but everyone should have a vacuum system.

Understanding their features and limitations of these coring systems will help you decide if you need to buy one of these. The nice feature with all these coring systems is that you get to use a lot more of your wood. The downside is that you end up with more bowls to turn, sand, and finish.
